Kids love learning chess, especially using First Move's online Program! The Chess Lady, a cartoon character, makes it fun and easy to learn chess at home.


The Chess Lady teaches step-by-step followed by reinforcing activities (and the computer knows all the right answers). Magnus the Dragon provides helpful hints along the way. At the end of every lesson there is a 10-question assessment.

First Move is targeted to kids ages 6-10, but that shouldn’t stop an adult from learning to play chess. If you’ve ever wished you knew how to play chess, First Move is a great way to learn (if you're okay with a cartoon dragon giving you help).

First Move is best implemented one hour per week.
